Willing, but Weak

Willing, but Weak

CONSIDER
When you give your life to Jesus, you are reborn in the Spirit. Though this new birth brings new life, your old "flesh" continues to struggle until the Holy Spirit fully cleanses your heart completely.

This weakness does not excuse your failures, but serves as an invitation to depend more on the Spirit. When God says "no" to your plans, the flesh wants to check out, give up, or rebel. Following Jesus means looking to his example and applying it to your own life. In this case, that is a call to stay alert.

The full and holy life only comes when you refuse to let your weaknesses dictate your direction.

REFLECT
Evaluate the sacrifices you make for the Lord. Do they only cost you comfort, or do they cost you something that feels like life itself?

Reflect on how God moved in the past when you stayed faithful despite a high price.

PRAY
Holy Spirit, my flesh gets so tired sometimes. Cleanse my heart and give me the strength to stay faithful, especially when your call on my life is costly. Amen.
