a Next step
Welcome! We're glad you're here!
There's a good chance you're on this page because you're at least a little curious about God, Jesus, and/or the church.
A great next step is to listen.
You can check out our YouTube channel, Facebook page, or the Through and To podcast at your convenience. The best way to listen for all who are able is to come in person.
Come and hear what God is saying through prayer, singing, and a message from our pastor at our 10:45am Sunday Gatherings.
As you listen, you will hear the Lord directing you to engage in his mission - to make you curious, courageous, and consistent in giving your whole self to Him so others can know Him, too.
At the church, we provide two avenues to practice engaging: serving and giving.
Serving at and through the church gives us the opportunity to lead like Jesus, who consistently prioritizes the needs of others to the glory of God.
Giving teaches us to thank God for all He's given us by saying, "Put this to work in a way that will bring more people to Jesus."
Jesus teaches that, if we are going to keep growing and serving, we have to stay consistently connected to him. That's what it means to abide.
Groups provide great opportunities to abide beyond Sunday. A dozen or fewer people meeting every week or two to connect, study the Bible, support one another, and become people who lead people through and to Jesus - together.
Groups encourage us to develop a consistent rhythm of staying connected to Jesus with increasing consistency as we read our Bibles, pray for each other, and seek his guidance between Group times and Sunday Gatherings.
Groups meet at the church and in homes on Sunday mornings (9:45am) and throughout the week.
The word "disciple" isn't used very often in our cultural context. In fact, outside of Christianity, it doesn't have very good connotations. BUT, in our tradition, it's actually quite beautiful.
In Jesus' day, a disciple was an apprentice. It was someone who stayed connected to their teacher every day, doing what he taught them to do, and listening to everything he said. In time, with much practice, the disciple (apprentice) would be prepared to become the person to lead other people through and to the way of their teacher.
This is where our mission and model come from. We are disciples (apprentices) of Jesus who listen, engage, and abide with him so we can disciple others (make new apprentices) who do the same.
Here's the twist: we don't only do what Jesus did. We invite Jesus to LEAD through us in order to LEAD people to him!
